Varaždinski folklorni ansambl,
The folk dance group from the town of Varaždin in northern Croatia was founded in 1998. The aim of the group is not only to perform Croatian folk dances, songs and music with high artistic values and quality, but also to protect and preserve the immaterial heritage of Croatia in today's society. The ensemble consists of 40 dancers / singers and 10 musicians playing traditional instruments such as tamburizza, violin, clarinet and other instruments. The members are mostly young people between the ages of 15 and 30. The folk dances, songs and music come from all parts of Croatia, especially from the Varaždin region. Every year the ensemble performs a large number of performances and concerts in its home town, in Croatia and in countries all over Europe and takes part in many important festivals. The group itself says that it performs to win the hearts of the audience and to make friends with the hosts and other participants of folklore festivals and events, in the spirit of the Schlitzerländer Trachtenfest.
